South Loop Digital is the video arm of Xblu, Inc. — a Chicago digital marketing studio. It started as a simple logo to put on drone flights over the lakefront. A few hundred flights later it is a library of cinematic aerials, time-lapses, hyperlapses and POV rides covering Chicago in every season, Wisconsin’s Northwoods, the Indiana Dunes and road trips from Colorado to Puerto Vallarta.
What we shoot
- Drone aerials — 4K flights on DJI Mini 4 Pro and Mini 5 Pro, from skyline reveals to low passes over the water.
- Time-lapse & hyperlapse — construction progress, nesting birds, storms, northern lights and orbit hyperlapses.
- POV rides — GoPro e-bike and BMW R1200GSA motorcycle rides, often with a rat terrier riding shotgun.
- Events — Soldier Field game days, concerts, regattas, fireworks and St. Patrick’s Day on the green river.
Work with us
Footage from the library can be licensed, and we take on custom shoots for real estate, construction progress, events and brand content. Every project can come with editing, color, music and distribution handled by the Xblu marketing team.
